An air hammer runs on compressed air. The air supply isn’t an accessory to the tool — it is the tool.

Under-supply the volume or the pressure and the hammer won’t perform, however good the hammer is. Most setups get specced hammer first and compressor last, or run on whatever unit was free that week.
